SERIES PREVIEW: at No. 12 LSU

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 11 Texas A&M Aggies bus to Baton Rouge for a three-game series against No. 12 LSU Tigers starting Friday.
 
Game times for the three-day series are slated for 7:02, 7:02 and 2:02 p.m. Saturday's game airs on ESPN2 and Sunday's game is booked for the SEC Network. Clay Matvick will handle play-by-play while Kyle Peterson provides color. Every game of the series is available for viewing on SEC Network +. SEC Network + provides digital-only events to SEC Network subscribers through WatchESPN and the ESPN app on smartphones, computers, tablets and connected devices (Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Xbox 360 and Xbox One). All three games will air on the radio locally. In the Brazos Valley, the games can be heard on SportsRadio 1150 and/or 102.7 The Zone with Dave South on the call.
 
Braden Shewmake enters the weekend on a 13-game hit streak. During the span, the Wylie, Texas, native is batting .418 (25-for-59) with 14 runs, three doubles, one triple, two home runs and 15 RBI. After batting just .185 (5-for-27) the first eight games of 2019, Shewmake has caught fire the last 23 contests, hitting. 386 (39-for-101) with 20 runs and 30 RBI. In the series sweep at Kentucky, Shewmake batted .625 (10-for-16) with five runs, one double, two home runs and 11 RBI.
 
The Aggies rank in the top 20 in the nation in numerous pitching categories, including strikeouts per nine innings (2nd - 11.3), K-to-BB Ratio (3rd - 3.98), ERA (3rd - 2.56), walks allowed per nine innings (8th - 2.83), WHIP (9th - 1.11), shutouts (15th - 4) and hits allowed per nine innings (16th - 7.16).
 
Individually, Asa Lacy ranks sixth in the nation in strikeouts (68) and strikeouts per nine innings (14.40) and 14th in hits allowed per nine innings (4.64) and 40th in ERA (1.48) John Doxakis ranks 9th in the nation in K-to-BB ratio (10.60), 19th in walks allowed per nine innings (1.08) and 41st in strikeouts (53).
 
Doxakis enters the weekend needing four strikeouts to become the 18th Aggie to record 200 career strikeouts.
