BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Texas A&M's Jasmine Williams (women's basketball) is one of two Southeastern Conference student-athletes to represent the league at the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum Thursday through Sunday in Orlando, Fla. Alabama's Daniel Kober (men's swimming and diving) joins Williams in the SEC's delegation.

One of Texas A&M's most involved student-athletes, Williams participated in several Texas A&M-sponsored volunteer events, including Aggies CAN, the largest student-athlete volunteer run canned food drive in the nation, and Aggies Read, a student outreached that is dedicated to promoting literacy to elementary and middle school students in the local community. She also served as a huddle leader for the inaugural student-athlete Fish Camp and volunteered with the Blair's Buddies organization. In the local community, Williams has volunteered at the Aggieland Humane Society, which provides humane care and placement for homeless and abandoned animals and sorted food at the Brazos Valley Food Bank.

Williams played in 22 games this season for the Aggies, helping Texas A&M to a 26-8 record and its second-straight Sweet 16 appearance.

The NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum was created in 1997 and has hosted approximately 5,000 student-athletes since its inception. Student-athletes who attend the forum are taught leadership skills and given the chance to explore the relationship between personal values, core beliefs and behavioral styles. The forum also aims to give attendees a thorough understanding of the NCAA as a whole, the different divisional perspectives and the valuable role of Student-Athlete Advisory Committees.

Kober and Williams were selected as exceptional student-athletes who have shown outstanding leadership among their peers, institutions and communities.
