COLLEGE STATION – For the first time ever, Texas A&M Athletics is hosting its Gamer Camp, a summer camp for video gamers, Powered by iBuyPower for boys and girls ages 13-18. The camp allows gamers to play video games in unique locations such as the Ford Hall of Champions inside Kyle Field.

"Gamer Camp is for kids that love to game, want to make new friends, learn new things and enjoy outdoor summer fun too," said Pat Coyle, Senior Associate Athletics Director and camp administrator.

Two sessions are available from June 9-14 and June 16-21.

Session I campers will live in the Callaway Villas with breakfast and dinner served at the Callaway House. Session II campers will sleep in the Quad, a college dormitory occupied by the Corps of Cadets during the school year. Breakfast and dinner will be served in Duncan, the Corps' dining hall. All lunches will be served in various locations on campus.

Each session features five-to-six hours of game and two hours of physical activity or educational entertainment. Activities could include yoga, swimming, kick ball or capture the flag. On the educational front, students will tour the Texas A&M Athletics television studios to learn how television productions work, experience a demonstration by athletics sports performance trainers to learn the impact playing video games has on heart rates, learn how video games are made and test-drive games that were designed and built by college students.

Campers will be using the latest gaming computers and peripherals provided by iBuyPower, which specializes in high-performance video gaming gear and is the supplier of choice for many of the world's top Esports teams.

The campers will be taught by camp counselors comprised of Texas A&M students and members of the Texas A&M Esports Club.

A limited number of spots are available for each sessions and a waiting list will be maintained if registration limit is exceeded for either session.
