COLLEGE STATION - Texas A&M revealed its 2019-20 women's golf schedule, a slate that features some of the top courses in North America, several premier events in college golf and two trips to Mexico.
Â
The Aggies open the season in Toledo, Ohio, at Inverness Club, a nine-time major championship host that's slated to host the 2021 Solheim Cup, participating in the Inverness Women's Collegiate (Sept. 16-17). The season continues with the Schooner Fall Classic (Sept. 27-29), which benefits the Toby Keith Foundation and OK Kids Korral, at Belmar Golf Club in Norman, Okla.
Â
The Aggies have two tournaments scheduled in the state of Texas, starting with the Jim West Challenge in San Marcos (Oct. 20-21), held at Kissing Tree Golf Club. In the spring, A&M returns to the ICON Invitational (Feb. 24-25), played at The Woodlands Country Club – Tournament Course, which has hosted the PGA Tour's Houston Open, the LPGA's Samsung World Championship and the Champions Tour's Insperity Invitational.
Â
A&M ends its fall and begins its spring south of the border, playing in the Battle at the Beach and the Guadalajara Invitational. The Battle at the Beach (Nov. 1-3) takes place in San José del Cabo at Club Campestre San Jose. The Aggies start the spring season at the Guadalajara International Invitational (Feb. 16-18) at Guadalajara Country Club—which hosted the LPGA's Lorena Ochoa Invitational. A strong 15-team field, which includes the Mexican National team, highlights the event.
Â
The Aggies compete at two tournaments hosted by SEC rivals in the lead-up to the SEC Championship (April 15-19). For the first time since 2014, Texas A&M participates in one of the oldest women's college golf tournaments, the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic (Mar. 20-22), hosted at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Ga. The Aggies conclude the regular season at The Grove Cup (April 7-8), hosted by Ole Miss.
Â
Sandwiched in between the two is a taste of desert golf at the PING ASU Invitational (Mar. 27-29), contested at Papago Golf Course, a former US Public Links Championship host, in Phoenix.
Â
The SEC Championship returns to Greystone Golf & Country Club in Hoover, Ala. and remains in a stroke & match play format. Texas A&M looks to qualify for NCAA Regionals (May 11-13) for the 20th consecutive season, vying to be one of 72 teams sent to Athens, Ga., Notre Dame, Ind., Pullman, Wash., or Raleigh, N.C. The NCAA Championships (May 22-27) begin a three-year stay at Grayhawk Golf Club's Raptor Course in 2020 in Tempe, Ariz.
