The hard work continues, as the Aggies prepare for the 2019 campaign.Â
Prior to Sunday's Fan Day and open practice, Scott Retzlaff spoke with running back Jashaun Corbin. Their conversation is below.Â
Coverage of fall camp is brought to the 12th Man all August long by Academy Sports + Outdoors.
SR: How would you assess your individual start to this year's Fall Camp?
Â
"Fall Camp has been pretty good for me. It's been very challenging with having to step into a leadership role. We have a lot of guys who are young and inexperienced, so I'm just trying to spread knowledge to everybody else. Everyone in the room is capable of doing everything. Coaches have been on me. That's normal, but I'm just honing in on technique and discipline. Fall Camp has been pretty good."
Â
SR: When you look back at 2018, how did learning from guys like Trayveon last season benefit you?
Â
"It definitely helped learning from both defensive and offensive guys that are now in the NFL. I was put in a good situation, and I came in at the right time. It definitely helped."
Â
SR: How much of a difference do you notice now that you're in year two of Coach Fisher's offense?
Â
"It's very comfortable. I feel like I know the offense in and out. Once you get to that point, you're set. Now I'm getting looked at a lot more by the coaches since I've stepped into that starter role, but that's the main difference this year."
Â
SR: When you look at the offensive unit as a whole, what's the excitement level for your potential in 2019?
Â
"It's very exciting. We have depth at running back and wide receiver. The offensive line is great, and we have a great quarterback. I feel like big things are going to happen this year with our offense. I feel like this whole team is going to be special."
Â
SR: What does Fan Day mean to you in terms of spending time with the 12th Man?
Â
"I love it. When I was a little kid, I looked up to guys. To be in that position where you see the kids and their faces when they get to meet you, it's like no other feeling. I'm definitely blessed to be in this position, and I'm enjoying it."
