Freshman Lee Finishes Tied for Eighth at Asia-Pacific Amateur

SHANGHAI, China – Texas A&M freshman golfer Jimmy Lee finished in a tie for eighth after firing a 1-under 71 in the final round of the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship on Sunday at the Sheshan International Golf Club.

Lee, who was born in Korea but hails from Mission, Texas, was 7-under par for the tournament and was just three shots behind Yuxin Lina of China and Takumi Kanaya of Japan, who were deadlocked at 10-under after 72 holes. Lina won the playoff to repeat as Asia-Pacific Amateur champion.
 
Lee was under-par in three of four rounds in Shanghai, including a sparkling bogey-free 5-under par 67 in the second round. His card featured rounds of 68-67-75-71 for a 7-under total of 281.
