Football to Debut Aggie Ring Cleat on Saturday

Texas A&M football will debut an Aggie Ring-themed cleat on Saturday in the Aggies' Senior Day matchup with UTSA at Kyle Field.
The shoe, designed by adidas, features intricate detail showcasing the most prized possession of any Aggie, the coveted Aggie Ring.
Adidas came to us with the concept of doing an Aggie Ring commemorative cleat that we would wear for senior day. We thought it was a great idea to showcase one, our seniors on the team, and two, honor the academic side and the Aggie Ring itself.Matt Watson, Assistant AD for Equipment & Apparel
The cleats feature both the left and right sides of the Aggie Ring embroidered directly into the material of the shoe.
In addition, adidas has provided a 'lace jewel' that features the Aggie Ring crest. While the entire team has the opportunity to wear the cleats, only players who already have their Aggie Ring or have met the requirements and expect to receive the Aggie Ring will be able to feature the jewel.
The shoes are obviously very cool in and of themselves. But the fact that the ring crest shoelace jewel gets to be worn by seniors only is certainly a pride moment for those seniors--that one, they have it on their hand, but also that they obviously have a piece on the field that shows, hey, I'm a senior and I really attained something here.Marty Holmes, Vice President, Association of Former Students
Showcasing a cleat of such detail, designed and produced by adidas, is another example of the strong partnership between the apparel brand and Texas A&M.
