
Texas A&M diver Campbell qualifies for NCAAs

Austin, Texas – Texas A&M sophomore diver Charlye Campbell became the 12th member of the Aggie women's team to earn a spot at the national meet on the second day of the NCAA Zone D Qualifier on Tuesday at the University of Texas.
Campbell, from Midland, Texas, earned her first-ever trip to the NCAA Championships after placing sixth in the women's 1-meter springboard with 12-dive total of 589.15. Teammate Haley Allen also advanced to the finals and placed 15th with a score of 540.95.
On the men's side, senior Sam Thornton and sophomore Kurtis Mathews, who had already locked up their NCAA spots, placed third (795.95) and fifth (756.30), respectively, in the 3-meter dive.
