"We are coming off of a solid win against Auburn on Friday," Texas A&M women's tennis head coach Mark Weaver said. "We are looking to continue play at a very high level while we are also looking to improve in some areas. Alabama will be another quality SEC opponent and we look forward to another highly contested match."
The Maroon & White look to open the season with 14 wins in their first 15 matches for the first time since the 2013 season. The Aggies look to join the 2013 squad for the best 15-match stretch to open a season in program history, the '13 team raced out to a 15-1 mark before falling in the NCAA Championship Finals.
The Aggies picked up an impressive 4-2 win over Auburn to open SEC play on Friday at the Mitchell Tennis Center. A&M bounced back from dropping the doubles point to claim singles wins by Jayci Goldsmith, Tatiana Makarova, Renee McBryde and Riley McQuaid. McBryde secured the clinch victory for the Aggies for the third straight match.

Townsend and McBryde are the lone ranked doubles team for the Aggies, entering the rankings at No. 52 after earning the Aggies' first ranked doubles win of the season at Oklahoma.
A&M has posted a 68-10 singles record and 24-6 doubles mark in dual matches this spring. Faa-Hviding has a team-high seven match win streak while sophomore Riley McQuaid has won 15 of her last 16 matches.
