The first book in Russell's ever-expanding collection.
When did your collection start? I started the collection around the fourth grade. Each time I traveled to destinations such as zoos, parks and aquariums I made sure to take home a pressed penny with an imprint that represented the specific location.
 Why did you start collecting pressed pennies? I think I started it because I loved cranking the penny machine, l-o-l! Then it became something fun to collect on trips. It's really cool looking back now and having a little souvenir from some fun childhood vacations and trips.
 How many items in your collection? I have about 60 or 70 right now. There are little booklets you can keep them in and I have two full ones.
 What was the first penny you collection? The first couple I got were at the San Diego Zoo. Since I started the collection there, I made sure to get a few, haha!
 What are the latest additions to the collection? I got two while I was in Breckenridge, Colorado last year.

 Which penny is your favorite? My favorite is from the USS Alabama battleship. I have really fun memories with my family on our annual road trip to Destin and we stopped there!

What's your holy grail penny? My "Holy Grail" penny would for sure be a penny from Italy. I want to take a trip there so bad. My family had planned a vacation there for this summer, but had to cancel because of coronavirus. So maybe one day I'll end up getting it J
 Did you know? United States pennies minted after 1982 have a zinc core and produce elongated pennies with zinc streaks. Using coins made before 1982 may avoid the zinc streaking.
