Distance runner Eric Casarez goes through the Q&A 4x1.
What were your initial thoughts about the cancellation of your freshman outdoor season?
Â
"I didn't want to believe it at first. We were all doing so well and still had a couple big travel meets coming up but I just felt really bad for the Seniors. I'm not too sad though since I know that they're giving us our eligibility back."
Â
What is your favorite quarantine activity?
Â
"I find myself doing a lot of different things in the house. I've made a couple of Tiktoks, those take up a lot of time actually. My mom and I have been ordering puzzles on Amazon. At the beginning of this year, one of my goals was to finish 20 puzzles in 2020, working my way up from 500 pieces to 2,000 pieces. So now I have a lot of time on my hands to tackle that goal. It's a good way to get some good time off my phone and stay productive with my time."
Â
What are some shows you are currently streaming?
Â
"I've been watching more movies than shows, but I started watching All American on Netflix the other day. I actually finished season one a while back and I just found out that they put season two out on Netflix so I'm midway through that right now."
Â
How are you making the most of the current situation?
Â
"I'm taking it day by day and trying not to worry about things I have no control over. I've been praying that things will all work out eventually. I stay in touch with coaches and teammates through GroupMe. As far as workouts go, I take accountability for myself and stay fit through doing my own workouts."
