COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The 2020 WNBA Draft is set to be held on Friday at 6 p.m. CT., and air on ESPN. Texas A&M's Chennedy Carter is projected to be drafted among the top five picks. ESPN's Rebecca Lobo and Holly Rowe sat down to breakdown the game of one of A&M's most decorated players.

Rebecca Lobo – ESPN Women's Basketball Analyst
"Chennedy Carter's talent obviously translates really well -- her ability to score, her effectiveness in the pick-and-roll game. You hear some people say she is a generational talent. This is a player who is clearly capable of being a big-time scoring threat in the WNBA.
It will be interesting to see, once we have a season, how she does in other facets of her game, getting teammates involved, how she does on the defensive end of the floor. Without question her scoring ability is right there in terms of WNBA talent."

Holly Rowe – ESPN Women's Basketball Analyst
"I was just on the phone with Gary Blair, the head coach from Texas A&M, and he had the most wonderful things to say about Chennedy that I wanted to point out: Number one, she can get her own shot. Getting your own shot in the WNBA is a premium skill and she possesses that better than anybody in the college game right now.
He then made another fun point: There were a few times in the NCAA Tournament, one where she made a game-winning shot, and the second year, the next year, she had an opportunity and passed it to a teammate, to trust a teammate to hit a shot. I thought that was a good depiction of a player who understands when it is her time and a player who understands when it is time to trust a teammate. I thought that was a great distinction that her college coach [Gary Blair] made about Chennedy."
Â
Most mock drafts have Carter being drafted by the Atlanta Dream with the fourth overall pick. If the three-time All-American is drafted fourth, she will become the highest drafted Aggie in program history. Kelsey Bone was selected with the fifth pick in the 2013 WNBA Draft by the New York Liberty. When Carter is selected on Friday, she will also become the 14th player in program history to hear her name called at the WNBA Draft.
The Mansfield, Texas, native is one of three draft eligible juniors that decided to forego their senior seasons and enter the draft. She is the second highest rated guard in the entire draft class, and is the only player to have averaged over 21.0 points per game in the class.
Â
The 2020 WNBA Draft will take place virtually, due to concerns regarding COVID-19. Coverage of the event can be seen on ESPN and the ESPN app at 6 p.m. CT on Friday, April 17.
