How did you get into the business and what led you to Texas A&M?

"I started running in college, but didn't know how to properly fuel for the longer races I was running. We didn't have a sports nutrition class in undergrad. I started volunteering as a grad student with the athletic department at the University of Illinois at Chicago and then took our graduate-level sports nutrition elective. I got the bug, so I arranged to do a big portion of my dietetic internship with Northwestern University Athletics, working football, women's basketball and baseball. I graduated from graduate school and got a job with the Chicago Cubs, working with their Triple A team in Iowa. After that season, I came to A&M! I currently work with softball, women's swimming and diving, men's swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis."

What's your favorite part about working with collegiate athletes?

"Interacting with them and helping them achieve their goals! They're a very energetic and positive population to work with, and I love watching them progress over their four years."

How are you helping athletes during this time?

"We are creating a lot of educational material (videos/handouts) and posting a lot more to social media. I've reached out to all of my student-athletes to make sure they know I'm here and they can still use me as a resource."
