With fans counting down to the 2020 Texas A&M Football season, we continue our series to breakdown each position group for the highly anticipated season. Under the direction of newly appointed tight ends coach James Coley, a young group of talented tight ends look to continue to establish the position in head coach Jimbo Fisher’s offense.

After making 11 starts and appearing in every game for the Aggies, Jalen Wydermyer turned heads after leading all SEC tight ends with six touchdowns and all SEC West freshmen with 32 receptions. The Dickinson, Texas product’s six scores were the second most by an A&M tight end and tie for the third most all-time by an A&M freshman.

The Aggies welcome back a full room of varsity athletes from a season ago including Glenn Beal, Baylor Cupp and Max Wright. Beal, from New Orleans, has appeared in nine games in the Maroon & White while Wright, from Katy, Texas, makes the transition from the defensive side of the ball. Cupp, Brock, Texas, was expected to make a significant contribution at the position a season ago before an injury in fall camp ended his year.
