2020 Texas A&M Football Position Breakdown: Wide Receivers

With fans counting down to the 2020 Texas A&M Football season, we continue our series to breakdown each position group for the highly anticipated season. Under the direction of wide receivers coach Dameyune Craig, an impressive group of talented wide receivers looks to continue to create big plays in head coach Jimbo Fisher’s offense.

Returning Starter: Jhamon Ausbon

Lettermen Returning: Andrew Boykin, Kam Brown, Camron Buckley, Caleb Chapman, Hezekiah Jones, Chase Lane, Reese Mason, Jalen Preston, Dylan Wright

Redshirt: Kenyon Jackson

Newcomers: Demond Demas, Moose Muhammad III, Devin Price

Ausbon returns for his senior season with 35 career starts, including all 13 games last season, to lead a talented wide receiver group for the Aggies. The Houston native looks to ascend the career record books as he currently ranks 8th in yards through the air (1,818) and 9th in receptions (147). A season ago, Ausbon posted the best season of his career as he posted career-bests in receptions (66), receiving yards (872) and receiving touchdowns (5).

The Aggies welcome back a full room of lettermen from a season ago including Camron Buckley, and Caleb Chapman. Buckley, from Cedar Hill, has appeared in every game over the past three seasons Maroon & White accumulating 62 receptions, 877 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Chapman bounced back from an injury that forced him to take a redshirt season in 2018 to appear in 11 of 13 games in 2019.

The Aggies signed a trio of decorated prepsters at the wide receiver position. Demas was heralded as the best wide receiver prospect in the state of Texas, while Muhammad claimed that honor from the state of North Carolina. Price, the son of defensive ends coach Terry Price, hauled in 14 touchdowns as a senior at A&M Consolidated High School.
