Sophomore opposite hitter Treyaunna Rush talked about her teammates.
Favorite memory of your first season at Texas A&M?
"Besides actually being on the court playing-wise, going to different places with the team. They switched up who we stayed with in the hotel room every time so it would be a right side and a defensive specialist, or a middle and a setter, or an outside and a setter, so you were in a different room with someone every weekend almost every day. So it was so fun getting to know the little things about your teammates that you wouldn't usually know since you don't stay with the entire team. That was really the fun part for me, just learning new things about my teammates every weekend. Also, the time I found out that Hollann's [Hans] middle name was Francis because that's all I call her. It's just so funny. I don't even remember how I found out that that was her middle name, but that's the reason that I give everyone on the team 'grandma names.' Also learning everyone else's middle names as well, because learning hers I learned everyone else's. Karly's [Basham] middle name is Rose so that was her grandma name."
What have the coaches surprised you with before?
"We had a tournament in California and they took us to the beach. They surprise us with a lot of stuff. One time they told us to pack an overnight bag and to pack dark clothing, and they ended up taking us to a rope course and then we went to the lake. We had no idea though. We stayed in an AirBnB and woke up the next morning and they cooked breakfast. The coaches really love surprises, so it wouldn't be a surprise if they surprised us with something to do in Hawai'i."
What are you looking forward to going into your second volleyball season?
"I am looking forward to making more memories with my teammates and coaches. I am also looking forward to being back on the court with my best friends to play the amazing game of volleyball."
