Aggie Baseball Lands Program-Best 19 on Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M Baseball had 19 players named as part of the Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll the league announced Friday. It marked the highest tally in program history for the Aggies, who landed 18 players on the list in 2019.

Players named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll included Brandon Ashy, Rody Barker, Dawson Barr, Bryce Blaum, Jonathan Childress, Hunter Coleman, Mason Corbett, Zach DeLoach, Will Frizzell, Mikey Hoehner, Chandler Jozwiak, Asa Lacy, Bryce Miller, Jake Nelson, Christian Roa, Dustin Saenz, Logan Sartori, Zane Schmidt and Chris Weber.
 
It capped off a banner year in the classroom for the Aggies, who registered their highest semester grade-point average on record with a 3.515 mark for Spring 2020.
 
The Maroon & White boasted seven players with 4.0 GPAs for the semester, including Barker, Corbett, Asa Lacy, Joseph Menefee, Roa, Schmidt and Weber.
 
Under the direction of Assistant Director of Acadmics Mindy Phillips, the Aggies' scholastic endeavors have picked up steam in recent years. Most recently, Frizzell earned recognition on the CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 squad.
 
The Aggies had four players named to the Dean's Honor Roll for Spring 2020, including Corbett, Alex Magers, Mason Ornelas and Schmidt for completing 15 graded hours with over a 3.75 GPA for the semester.
 
Hoehner garnered recognition as a Distinguished Student for completing 15 graded hours with over a 3.50 GPA for the semester.
