Texas A&M junior Carlos Aguilar opened the Tennis Canada League in Montreal with a trio of impressive victories. Tennis Canada organized play among the best tennis juniors and collegiate players in the Montreal area.

Aguilar opened play with a victory of Taha Baadi of Wake Forest, Baadi played all of his matches last spring as a freshman on the top-three courts for the Demon Decons. Following the win against Baadi, Aguilar bested Alexia Galarneua of NC State, Galarneau was ranked No. 20 in the final ITA Singles Rankings last spring. In the final match to open play in Montreal, Aguilar topped Alexandre LeBlanc of Kentucky, LeBlanc was ranked No. 83 in the at the suspension of play last spring.
