Moore Meets Media as Fall Camp Week One Continues

Senior offensive lineman Dan Moore Jr. visited with the media Friday as Texas A&M continues Fall Camp.

Senior offensive lineman Dan Moore Jr. visited with the media Friday as Texas A&M continues its Fall Camp workouts this week. The Aggies are off from practice and will return to the practice fields Saturday evening.

Video of the press conference is available below. 12thMan.com's coverage of Fall Camp is presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors.

Some quick notes from Moore's media session:

  • Second year under Coach Henson. We understand him, what he wants, what he’s asking of us. Think it will be a tremendous year. My expectations and our expectations for this offensive line are a whole lot greater than what anyone else is thinking. Just go out to practice and get better every day.
  • Offense will only be as good as the offensive line. This O-line is improving every day. Going against a tremendous defensive line. Have a great coaching staff that pushes us daily. Guess we’ll just have to see how good we’ll be on gameday.
  • Going against a great defensive line is helping us a lot. All across the board our guys have gotten tremendously better and improved this offseason. Extended offseason gave us more time to lift and get in shape, and you can definitely feel that on the field. D-line stacks up with the best in the SEC. They’re definitely getting us ready for the year.
  • Honestly this offseason looked myself in the mirror and said I didn’t play as good of ball as I wanted to. Offseason was a challenge to myself, and how far I can push myself and how good I can be. Think I did a good job of that.
  • (on SEC adding cardiac protocols) We’ve been doing heart imaging before honestly. Once you test positive you have to have cardiac test to come back. Doesn’t change anything for us. Training staff is doing a great job keeping us up to date with everything.
  • Kenyon Green is like a little brother to me. Playing next to him has been great. He can be great. Said that from the first day I saw him do his first rep in 1-on-1 pass rush. Explosive. Twitchy. Figured it out early. That’s very rare. Body type. Mindset. Prepares like an older guy. Been exciting to watch him grow.
  • Young guys have a lot of personality. Bring a lot of energy to the team. Lots of competition in practice. It’s not just trying to survive, we’re competing to get better and get everyone better.
  • (why not many players have opted out) We just want to play ball. That’s all I can say.
  • Every year the injury bug hits us. Guys play banged up. No excuse. Once you get into the season, everyone is playing hurt. Can’t focus on that. Blessed enough to have a longer offseason this year to heal up from that.Â
