Post-Match Quotes
Head Coach Bird Kuhn
Opening statement…
"The second round is always going to be a battle, especially on the road. I'm proud of how they finished. The start was a little rough, but the turnaround and us changing up the sides, that's what I'm proud of. The steadiness of our ball control really settled us in and got us rolling."
On starting off slow, but finishing strong…
"Lo [Lauren Davis] and Camryn Ennis were solid on the pins, but Mo [Morgan Davis] and Mallory Talbert in the middle were so strong. I give Camille [Conner] props for running the ball around the way she does, but she found our middles both nights and they both had great nights. Again, it comes back to ball control. When were in system and grinding on defense, that gives Camille all of her options. Props to them for settling in and really just taking care of the ball on our side."
On some players coming off the bench…
"Sabrina [Sustala] and CiCi [Hecht] had a steadiness about them when they came in. Sabrina obviously kept coming in back row and they build that every day at practice. The ball control, like I said, is huge for us, but we know we have depth in our bench and we'll go to them. That's what we told them in the locker room – this is what it's all about. When we're in this, everyone goes in, everyone gives and does their part."
On the upcoming bye week…
"The bye week is going to be huge for us. We're going to break some things down and really focus on individual skills, but then get back to our basics of team and the fundamentals behind our offense and how we need to execute at a higher level."
Sophomore outside hitter Treyaunna Rush
On today's second road win…
"I know it's really big. We didn't play as well yesterday, so just coming in today and showing everyone who Aggie Volleyball is and taking home two wins is very good."
On the upcoming bye week…
"It feels wonderful. It gives us time to get in the gym and work on what we need to work on. It gives us a lot of time to get better for our next opponent."
Sophomore outside hitter Lauren Davis
On finishing 2-0 in Oxford…
"I think it's a really good reaction for our team. There's a lot of different ways we could have gone out after the first game. I think after the first set today we really cleaned it up and stuck to our game plan. That's what everyone could have hoped for and the fourth set today was who A&M Volleyball really is. I think it's exciting to see us really pull through there."
On the play of her teammates in the middle…
"It was amazing. Camille was getting great sets to them and they were able to be up every time and put balls away. It gave a lot of opportunities for the hitters and that was a really big component of today's win and Aggie Volleyball."
