Quah, Stepanek Earn SEC Weekly Honors

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M women's swimming & diving added a pair of Southeastern Conference weekly honors, as senior Jing Wen Quah and freshman Chloe Stepanek were recognized for the first time in their collegiate careers for their performances against Rice, the league announced Tuesday. Quah was named co-Female Swimmer of the Week, while Stepanek garnered Female Freshman of the Week accolades.
Quah touched the wall first for the Aggies in a dominating performance in the 400 IM with a time of 4:13.75. The Singapore native totaled three top finishes on the day after also finishing first in the 200 Fly (1:57.60), 100 Fly (54.88). She earned B-cut times in two of the three events she competed in.
Stepanek won every event she competed in at her first meet as an Aggie. Stepanek earned three individual first-place finishes in the 200 Free (1:46.78), 50 Free (23.17), 500 Free (4:55.03). Stepanek and Quah also joined forces to aid the 200 Medley relay in a first-place finish.
The Aggies will return to action on Oct. 30, as they head to Austin to take on the Texas Longhorns at Jamail Texas Swim Center.
