MONACO – Reigning 800-meter World Champion and former Texas A&M NCAA Champion Donavan Brazier is one of 10 nominees for Male World Athlete of the Year, recently announced by World Athletics.Â
During the 2020 season, the middle-distance specialist ran world-leading times in the indoor 800m and outdoor 800m, while winning all seven of his races over all distances.
On Feb. 8, he bettered his American Indoor 800m record with a time of 1:44.22 at the Millrose Games in New York City. It was the second consecutive year he set an American record at the Millrose Games in the 800m after breaking the 26-year old record in 2019 when he ran 1:44.41.Â
