Aug 27, 2020 | Volleyball
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Ryan Ehnert has been added to the Texas A&M volleyball staff as a volunteer assistant coach, head coach Bird Kuhn announced Thursday.
"Ryan was introduced to our Aggie family last summer during camp, and was naturally drawn to our program's energy and culture," Kuhn said. "As he followed our season and stayed connected with us, this opportunity to join our staff seemed like a no brainer. Given his volleyball background and ambition to pursue a career in coaching, we could not be more excited to have Ryan in Aggieland!"
He joins the Aggie volleyball program after working in the corporate world for the last 10 years. Ehnert is a 2006 graduate from Quincy University in Illinois, where he was a four-year MIVA Division I student-athlete for the men's volleyball team as an outside hitter.
"I want to thank Coach Bird, the coaching staff and the Texas A&M Athletic Department for providing me with this amazing opportunity," Ehnert said. "I am honored and excited to be a part of the Texas A&M Volleyball staff and family.
Following graduation with his bachelor's degree in marketing from Quincy, Ehnert was the owner and director at SEVA Volleyball Club. Ehnert also served as the first assistant for the Quincy women's volleyball team and worked for the USA Volleyball Pipeline program. He generated over $10,000 for the women's program, assisted in marketing and promotional campaigns for the camps and supported the team's recruiting efforts as the assistant recruiter.
Ehnert will play a large role in Texas A&M's on court training efforts, while learning the behind the scenes ins and outs of recruiting.
