WACO, Texas – The Texas A&M equestrian team garnered the No. 5 seed for the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Championships on April 15-17 at the Extraco Events Center, the NCEA Selection Committee announced Tuesday.
Â
The Aggies (4-5) square off against No. 4 SMU in the first round, and face the winner of the No. 1 Auburn-No. 8 Baylor meet in the semifinals.
Â
Oklahoma State was named the No. 2 seed, and faces No. 7 Fresno State. No. 3 Georgia faces No. 6 TCU to conclude first round action.
Â
Outside the top eight, four teams (South Carolina, Delaware State, UT Martin and South Dakota State) are designated as replacement teams for the championship. If a team has to withdraw from championship play due to COVID-19 related issues, a replacement team will fill their spot in the bracket. The deadline for teams to be replaced is April 6. After April 6, if a team is unable to play, the competition will be counted as a "no contest" and the opponent will automatically advance.
