Football Hosts Mississippi State in SEC Home Opener

What to Watch For
- The Aggies will look to make it three straight victories in the series with Mississippi State as both teams are in search of their first win in league play this season.
- Junior RB Isaiah Spiller has been A&M’s most consistent performer on offense this season as he ranks sixth in the SEC, averaging 86.25 yards per game and 6.63 per rush.
- Spiller is the only Aggie to score at least one touchdown in each of the last three games, most recently sprinting 67 yards to the end zone, the team’s longest rushing score of the year, against Arkansas.
- Junior TE Jalen Wydermyer’s 12 career touchdown catches are the most by a tight end at A&M, and his next TD reception will move him into the top 10 among all players in program history.
- Wydermyer needs 69 receiving yards to move into second on A&M’s all-time career list among tight ends ... He is 134 yards away from Martellus Bennett’s record of 1,246 as he enters the week with 1,112 to date.
- Junior WR Ainias Smith ranks fifth in the nation and leads the SEC among players that have returned at least 10 punts as he averages 9.9 yards per return ... His 404 career punt return yards rank 11th on A&M’s all-time list.
- Senior PLK Seth Small is just six points away from moving into third on A&M’s all-time career scoring list, he has scored 303 points to date ... Randy Bullock, who was recently inducted into the Texas A&M Athletics Hall of Fame, owns the school record of 365 points from 2008-11.

- Against Arkansas, junior RB Isaiah Spiller became just the sixth Aggie rusher to tally over 500 career receiving yards, upping his total to 502 with 34 yards through the air.
- Junior DeMarvin Leal and graduate Micheal Clemons have been a force to be reckoned with on the defensive line over the last three games, as the pair has combined to tally 6.5 TFL, 3.0 sacks and seven QB hurries.
- Sophomore P Nik Constantinou ranks 16th in the country, averaging 47.0 yards per punt on the year ... Constantinou, who was named SEC Punter of the Week for his efforts against New Mexico, has sent nine of his 20 punts more than 50 yards downfield and landed 11 of them inside the 20.
- A&M boasts the second-best scoring defense in the country, giving up 9.3 points per game so far this year.
- The Aggies rank fourth nationally in passing defense as they are allowing just 119.5 yards through air per game and have given up only two passing scores through four games.
- The Aggies saw great production out of their freshmen against New Mexico, with wide receivers Demond Demas and Moose Muhammad III making not only the first catches of their young careers, but the first TD receptions as well.
- Quick starts have been a harbinger of Aggie victories in the Jimbo Fisher era ... The Aggies are 21-4 when scoring first and a perfect 20-0 when leading after the first quarter.
- A&M had one of its most impressive seasons in program history in 2020, making its first appearance in a New Year’s 6 bowl game and boasting a No. 4 ranking in both the AP and Coaches polls by season’s end.

- Junior RB Isaiah Spiller needs 88 rushing yards to move into the top 15 on A&M’s all-time career list ... He is five touchdowns away from breaking into the top 16 on the Aggies’ all-time career rushing TDs chart.
- Junior TE Jalen Wydermyer needs one touchdown reception to move into the top 10 on A&M’s career receiving TD’s list ... Wydermyer’s 12 career touchdown grabs are already a school record among tight ends.
- Junior WR Ainias Smith needs 18 receiving yards to hit the 1,000-yard plateau ... Two touchdowns will move Smith into the top 10 on A&M’s all-time career receiving TDs list.
- Graduate DB Myles Jones is climbing A&M’s career pass breakups list with 28 to-date, and needs just one PBU to move into a tie for eighth all-time with Dustin Harris (09-12) and Sammy Davis (99-02) ... Jones’ PBU career total is also good for eighth on the SEC’s all-time list.
- Senior PLK Seth Small needs six points to move into third on A&M’s all-time career scoring list.
