No. 4 Texas A&M Outmatches UT Martin, 12-8

MARTIN, Tenn. – The No. 4 Texas A&M equestrian team outmatched UT Martin, 12-8, Friday afternoon at the McWherter Agricultural Pavillion.
The Aggies (4-1, 2-0 SEC) defeated the Skyhawks (2-3, 2-1 ECAC) 6-4 in both Western and Jumping Seat disciplines. Most notably, the Maroon & White secured all five available points in Horsemanship.
Grace Boston tallied the first point for the Aggies on the day after scoring an 80 on Finn, defeating Tyler Anderson by three in Fences. Devon Thomas scored a 76 on Dante in the first round of rides, she was awarded a point after Elizabeth Becker was disqualified. The victory marked Thomas' fourth consecutive win on the season moving her to 4-1 in Fences on the season.
Trailing 3-2 after the first stanza, Texas A&M bounced back sweeping Horsemanship. Cori Cansdale highlighted the event as the Most Outstanding Performer after defeating Kate Davis, 79-72, on Shadow. It marked her first MOP on the season and third of her career.
Other point scorers in Horsemanship included, MacKenzie Chapman defeating Keely Seiter on Lance, 75-73.5, Ella Petak edging Lexi Bailey, 75.5-74 on Winnie B, Hanna Olaussen outperforming Paige Benson on Juliet, 78.5-76.5, and Hayley Riddle besting Katelyn Schultz, 77.5-73.5, on Mo.
Texas A&M led UT Martin at the break, 7-3.
Momentum for the Maroon & White carried into Flat as the Aggies bested the Skyhawks 4-1. Caroline Dance and Thomas each scored an 82 on their rides. Dance earned MOP honors on Ferrari defeating Tyler Anderson, 82-78. It marked her 12th career MOP, adding to her school record for most career MOPs. Thomas bested Kelby Kane on Dubay, 82-65.5. Kaitlyn Lovingfoss and Maggie Nealon each added points for Texas A&M. Lovingfoss defeated Mahalia Alascio, 74.5-59.5, on Olivia and Nealon won, 74.5-63.5, against Haley Kane on Finn.
With the meet already clinched, the Aggies entered Reining 11-4 and scored their final point as Malena Lopez defeated Maggie Malone, 72.5-72, on Pratt.
