Women's Swimming Sits in Second On Day One of Invite

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M women's swimming team began competition at the Art Adamson Invitational Wednesday night at the Rec Center Natatorium. The Aggies currently sit in second with 280.5 points, while USC leads the event with 327.5 points through day one.
The 200 free relay team of Kaitlyn Owens, Emma Stephenson, Olivia Theall and Chloe Stepanek started finals off strong, earning second with a time of 1:30.55.
Stepanek followed with a personal best and NCAA B-cut time of 4:43.40 in the 500 free to notch a second-place finish, leading five Aggies in top-16.
In the 200 IM, Theall clocked a personal-best time of 2:00.45 as the Aggies' top finisher in the event. Bobbi Kennett added a career-best time of 2:00.14 to place atop the competition in the B-final.
Aviv Barzelay, Andrea Perttula, Theall and Stepanek closed out the day with a second-place finish in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:36.57.
The Aggies return tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. prelims and 5:30 p.m. finals for day two of the Art Adamson Invitational.
