Green and Leal Named AP All-Americans

Texas A&M Football's Kenyon Green and DeMarvin Leal added AP All-America First Team honors to their extensive list of postseason accolades, announced Monday by The Associated Press.
Green is the only player in the NCAA to log 80 or more plays at four different offensive line positions as he helped pave the way for an offense that averaged 6.0 yards per play. The Humble, Texas native helped clear the way for a 1,000-yard rusher for the second straight season, and the Aggies are within range of having a pair of 1,000-yard rushers in the same season for the first time in program history.
He represents the first player from A&M to garner back-to-back All-America honors since Myles Garrett following the 2016 season and became the first A&M offensive lineman to achieve the feat since Jake Matthews (2012-13). This year, Green was included on the All-American teams by the AP, FWAA, Walter Camp, The Athletic, CBS Sports and ESPN and was a finalist for the Lombardi Award.
Leal helped the A&M defense limit opponents to just 15.9 points per game (No. 3 nationally) and tie for No. 8 nationally in quarterback sacks at 3.25 per game (39 for 272 yards in 12 games). The San Antonio, Texas native doubled his career-total for tackles-for-loss after making 12.5 stops behind the line and posted a career-best 8.5 quarterback sacks this season.
In addition to the honors from the AP, Leal was a member of All-American teams from the FWAA, The Athletic, CBS Sports and Walter Camp and is a finalist for the Hendricks Award. Leal claimed defensive MVP honors and a Community Service award at the team banquet.
