
Four Aggies Named SEC Riders of the Month

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Texas A&M equestrian's Kaitlyn Lovingfoss, Caroline Dance, MacKenzie Chapman, and Malena Lopez were named Southeastern Conference Riders of the Month, the league announced Thursday.
Lovingfoss was named the Fences Rider of the Month, Dance was awarded the Flat Rider of the Month, Chapman earned Horsemanship Rider of the Month honors, and Lopez clinched the Reining Rider of the Month title.
Lovingfoss started the month with back to back wins against Lynchburg and Auburn, including MOP honors in each appearance. The junior from Canyon Country, Calif., secured an 85-60 win against Lynchburg and edged out Auburn, 86-84.
In November, Dance went undefeated (3-0) in Flat, including two Most Outstanding Performer honors. The senior from West Chester, Pennsylvania, started the month earning MOP at UT Martin with a score of 82 on Nov. 12. The following day, she earned her second MOP after scoring an 89 against Lynchburg.
In Horsemanship, Chapman holds a perfect 6-0 record on the season. The fifth year senior earned Most Outstanding Performer honors on Oct. 29 vs. Georgia with a score of 76.5. In November, Chapman scored a 75 against UT Martin and a 74 against Auburn.
Lopez, a junior from Houston, leads the team in Reining with a 4-1-1 record, including a 2-0 record for the month of November. The two wins include edging out UT Martin 72.5-72 on Nov. 12 and Auburn 70-69 on Nov. 18.
No. 2 Texas A&M (6-1, 3-0 SEC) returns to action Jan. 29 against No. 4 Baylor at the Hildebrand Equine Complex.
