AUSTIN, Texas – The American Junior Golf Association's No. 1 recruit in the state of Texas and incoming Texas A&M women's golfer Mia Nixon won her third-straight state title at the 2022 UIL 2A State Golf Championship on Tuesday at the par-71 Lions Municipal Golf Course.
Nixon shot a 7-under 136 in two rounds and captured the individual championship by 15 strokes. She shot a 4-under 67 in the final round of her historic high school career. In 2021, she won state by 17 strokes and in 2019 she won by four.
The Martins Mill, Texas, native is the No. 32 golfer in the 2022 class, according to the AJGA rankings. She finished tied for ninth at the AJGA Polo Golf Junior Classic at Liberty National in 2021 and has four top-15 finishes this year in AJGA tournaments.
