NEW ORLEANS – The Texas A&M men's and women's track & field teams, as well as 18 student-athletes, earned United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic honors, the organization announced Wednesday.
The women's team accumulated a grade-point-average of 3.237, while the men's team earned a 3.02 GPA. Team all-academic honors require a combined team GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Eighteen student-athletes earned USTFCCCA all-academic mentions, including 10 from the women's team and eight from the men's squad. Student-athletes include Deborah Acquah, Allyson Andress, Julia Black, Lianna Davidson, Zach Davis, Lamara Distin, Omajuwa Etiwe, Katelyn Fairchild, Bryce Foster, Annie Fuller, Nick Mirabelli, Caden Norris, Spencer Simons, Kennedy Smith, Kennedy Wade, Sam Whitmarsh, Ishmel Williams and Deshae Wise.
Qualifications for individual USTFCCCA All-Academic honors include having a minimum GPA of 3.25, must have completed at least two semesters and must have finished the season ranked in the top 96 in any championship individual event during the indoor season or have participated in any round of the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
