ZÜRICH, Switzerland – Texas A&M track & field professional Bryce Deadmon won silver at the Wanda Diamond League 400m final Thursday night.

Deadmon, a Missouri City native and Nike professional, registered a season-best time of 44.47 to place second behind Kirani James of Grenada at 44.26.

The runner-up finish marked the second of the season and third top-three Diamond League finish for the 25-year old. Deadmon completed the Diamond League circuit with 21 points, placing him third overall in the standings behind Kirani James (38 points) and Vernon Norwood (28 points).Â

The Wanda Diamond League encompasses 32 Diamond Disciplines, following a championship style model. Athletes earn points at the 13 series meetings to qualify for the final of their discipline. Points are awarded as 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 or 1 for finishes first to eighth, respectively. The top six in the field events, top eight for 100m-800m and the top 10 for 1500m and long distances qualify for the final.
