Howdy!

With daylight savings on the horizon and the seasonal temperatures settling in, we are fully embracing fall weather in Aggieland. This time of year means that many of our programs are now in season and are competing for SEC and National Championships. With that, the strength of the 12th Man shows that they are alive and well by continuing to support our student-athletes at the sporting events. We know that several of our fall teams are not having the type of seasons that we expect here in Aggieland, but we have a strong foundation in place, and we are committed to making sure we always analyze our mission and vision for the program adapt accordingly.

It is now time once again to contribute to the Brazos Valley Food Bank and 12th Can by way of the Aggies CAN food drive! Year in and year out, our student-athletes solicit the support of the community by collecting canned goods and monetary donations at home sporting events. There is a significant amount of measurable impact that comes from these canned food drives and goes directly back into the community, so please continue to support our student-athletes.

Earlier this month our Men’s and Women’s Basketball programs held their first joint Aggie Basketball Luncheon. This event has basketball fans fired up for the season that will begin within the next two weeks for both programs. With our men’s team coming off a run to the SEC Tournament and NIT championships and our women’s team welcoming Coach Joni Taylor and her staff, it is important for Aggies near and far to come out and support! Be sure to purchase your season tickets and make your way to Reed Arena to support the Aggies on the hardwood. Check out the men's schedule here, and the women's here, to make your plans.

If you happen to travel on Wellborn Road or pass by the intersection of George Bush Drive West and Olsen Drive, you will see the construction of the new indoor football facility and indoor track & field stadium are moving along quite well, as steel is beginning to arrive and go vertical. These projects are a part of The Centennial Campaign, which you can donate to by clicking here.

Finally, after further reflection and consideration of our options, we will not choose a specific song for the team entrance into Kyle Field and simply use some sound effects and continue with the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band drum line transitioning to the Aggie War Hymn. The 12th Man creates the best environment in college football, and we will see you on Saturday night! #BTHOolemiss

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is hosting its 22nd year of Aggies CAN and is collecting donations now through mid-November.

Aggies CAN started in 2000 with a handful of student-athletes wanting to give back to the community that gave so much to them. What started out as an idea to have a collection at one football game has grown into the largest student-athlete driven canned food drive in the nation. Last year, Aggie student-athletes contributed over 50,000 meals to the Brazos Valley.

Texas A&M student-athletes are asking for your help in collecting non-perishable food items and monetary donations to benefit the Brazos Valley Food Bank and The 12th Can. We are excited to bring back both virtual and in-person donations this year! Fans can donate canned goods or monetary donations at any home sporting event from October 22-29, including outside of Saturday night's football game. All donations will receive a free Whataburger coupon while supplies last. Electronic donations are also accepted through November 17th – please text AGGIESCAN to 83200 or you can visit 12thman.com/aggiescan for more information. This is just one of the many ways our student-athletes give back to our wonderful community and I appreciate everyone who is able to support a great cause.

This month The Aggie Commitment partnered with Habitat for Humanity here in Bryan-College Station for two days of service opportunities. Nearly 50 Athletics staff members spent time at the Habitat for Humanity warehouse helping to build and paint walls that will be installed on a local project. By partnering with Habitat, we were able to assist our community in providing equitable housing for local families in need. Click here to learn more about Habitat for Humanity.

On Saturday for the first time ever, the 12th Man will have the opportunity to support our student-athletes through our official NIL apparel pop-up shop. The “Rep the Aggies” pop-up shop will be located at the Fan Zone in the north end of Kyle Field. The store will be open from Noon to 6:30 p.m. and fans do not have to have a ticket to enter the space to purchase officially licensed Texas A&M NIL merchandise. Our shop will feature a significant amount of NIL merchandise, including customized Adidas player jerseys and other NIL-related apparel. If you make a purchase, feel free to post a photo of your new apparel and tag our social media channel – @12thMan. Click here for more information.

On Saturday, fans will have an opportunity to purchase one of these exclusive Texas A&M Maroon YETI Ramblers inside Kyle Field. They are currently not available anywhere else--only at the stadium--and can be purchased (while supplies last) at permanent concession stands as well as in premium spaces. Thanks to our proud partner YETI, as well as the folks at Texas A&M Ventures and Levy Restaurants, for making this possible. You can learn more about the product and get pricing information right here.

After an August screening to an audience at Rudder Auditorium, we have released our much-anticipated documentary, Standing Room Only: The Legend of the 12th Man. Beginning today, you can now stream it for free inside our 12th Man TV app, which is available (also for free) on Apple TV, Roku or Fire Stick devices. It is also available on 12thman.com and inside the 12th Man Mobile app. Thanks to Chris Sabo and 12th Man Films for the countless hours of work that went into producing what we think is the definitive story of college football’s greatest tradition. You can download the app on those devices by searching “12th Man TV” in the App Store, or get more info on the documentary at 12thman.com/standingroomonly.

Sport Updates

  • In the longest road swing for our program since 1979, Football finally returns back home to Kyle Field on Saturday night against a top-15 Ole Miss team. There’s a lot of football left to play, and with four of our final five games at home, I know the team is looking forward to the loyal support of the 12th Man and playing in front of the best fans in the country.
  • It’s that time of year again, with Men's and Women's Basketball just around the corner...literally. Buzz Williams and the men will host A&M-Kingsville in a free exhibition game next Friday night at 7 before starting the season on Monday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. against ULM. Joni Taylor will make her Aggie coaching debut as the women begin the season on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. against A&M-Corpus Christi. Season and single-game non-conference tickets are on sale now.
  • Both the Men's and Women's Golf teams have completed fantastic fall seasons, setting the stage for an exciting spring. Brian Kortan’s 10th-ranked men have two tournament titles already under their belt, including a huge win at the Blessings on national television to start the month. Meanwhile, Gerrod Chadwell’s women are ranked third and not only won the “Mo”Morial in September but just wrapped up a run to the finals of the Golf Channel’s prestigious East Lake Cup in Atlanta.
  • Congrats to the Soccer team for punching its ticket to the SEC Tournament last night with a dominating win at Florida. Congrats as well to Coach G for picking up his 500th career win in the process--one of just five coaches at the Division I level to ever do so. The Aggies are in Pensacola this week for the SEC Tourney, and the NCAA field of 64 is announced on November 7.
  • Bird Kuhn and the Volleyball team gained some big momentum over the weekend with a 3-game sweep of a top-20 Kentucky team in front of the 12th Man. Mark your calendars for the first of the Aggies’ three remaining home matches, when we'll celebrate 50 years of Title IX against Alabama next Wednesday at 6.
  • Best of luck to Pat Henry, Wendel McRaven and the Cross Country team as they are in Oxford for Friday morning’s SEC Championships—which you can watch live at 10 a.m. on the SEC Network. Both the men and the women have put themselves in a great position to shine at next month’s NCAA Regional, which takes place at the Watts Cross Country Course on campus on November 11.
  • On the diamond, Jim Schlossnagle’s Baseball team and Trisha Ford’s Softball team are coming to the end of the fall seasons. The baseball squad will host Sam Houston in a final exhibition on Sunday at 1 p.m. (free admission), while the softball team hits the road Friday to Texas State before closing the fall with the Maroon & White Scrimmage next Friday at 6 (free admission).
  • There are just two more fall meets to go for Tana McKay’s fifth-ranked Equestrian team, which already has a pair of top-10 wins under its belt. The Aggies will close the fall home season on November 17 when they host Fresno State and, as always, admission is free.
  • In the pool, the Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving teams are gearing up for a busy few weeks at the Rec Center Natatorium. Next Thursday and Friday, Jay Holmes and Steve Bultman will guide the teams against Kentucky and TCU, respectively, with both meets starting at 3 p.m. (free admission). Then the Aggies will host the annual Art Adamson Invitational November 16-18. Both teams sit in the top 25 nationally.
  • Finally, the Men's and Women's Tennis teams are nearing the completion of their fall individual seasons. On the men’s side, Steve Denton's Aggies recently concluded deep runs in both the ITA All-American championships and the ITA Texas Regional. Mark Weaver's women's team recently concluded a dominating performance at the Texas A&M Fall Invitational. Dual-match seasons for both get going in January.
