- Thursday's matchup will be just the second meeting between Texas A&M and Murray State. In the only previous meeting, Marty Karow's Aggies dropped a hard-fought 49-46 decision to the Murray State College Thoroughbreds in Paducah, Kentucky, in 1946.
- The Aggies, who were receiving votes in the preseason poll, checked in at No. 24 in the most recent edition of the Associated Press Top 25. It was the team's first AP ranking since Jan. 1, 2017 (No. 13). In the coaches poll, the Aggies were just outside the top 25 with 25 votes.

- Henry Coleman III needs 13 rebounds to reach 300 for his career.
- With 87 career games played, Andre Gordon could reach 90 by the end of the MBI. Gordon needs to play two minutes and 43 seconds to reach 2,000 minutes of action in the Maroon & White. He needs 10 rebounds to reach 200. He needs 13 steals to become the 20th member of the Aggies' 100-steal club.
- The next points scored by Hayden Hefner and Manny Obaseki will be 150th of their respective careers.

Texas A&M's graduate guard tandem of Dexter Dennis and Tyrece "Boots" Radford are one of just three 6-foot-5 or shorter pairs nationally with 500-plus career rebounds. The 6-2 Radford has 567 rebounds in 92 career games, while the 6-5 Dennis has 564 boards in 114 games.

EARLY SEASON TRENDS:
- With 87 and 77 points in their two season-opening wins against ULM and ACU, respectively, the Aggies have scored 75-plus points in the first two games of the season for the first time in the Buzz Williams era. Prior to 2022, the last time the Aggies opened with a pair of 75+ scoring outputs was 2017-18.
- The Aggies have opened the season hot from the field with consecutive games of better than 50% shooting and are connecting on 51.4% of their FGA for the season.
- The NCAA leaders in total steals last season, the Aggies have posted 11 thefts in the first two games (5.5/gm).
- Sophomore guard Wade Taylor IV has been the Aggies' scoring leaders in both games so far with 18 points vs. ULM and 21 vs. ACU. Taylor has scored 39 points in just 44 minutes of action.
- Junior forward Henry Coleman III has been a force on the boards with team-best efforts in both games - 7 vs. ULM and 11 vs. ACU on his way to his sixth career double-double (13 points).
The Aggies were dominant in the second half as they overpowered the Abilene Christian Wildcats, 77-58, at Reed Arena on Nov. 11.
- Holding a tenuous five-point advantage at the break, the Aggies out-scored the Wildcats 43-29 in the second half to put the game away.
- Sophomore guard Wade Taylor IV hit his first five shots of the second half and was perfect from the line to provide the spark. He finished with 21 points with 19 coming after the break. Graduate transfer Dexter Dennis also shined in the second half as he hit 4-of-5 shots with two 3-pointers.
- Three other Aggies joined Taylor in double figures with Dennis, graduate Tyrece Radford and junior Henry Coleman III chipping in 13 points. Coleman pulled down 11 rebounds to tally his first double-double of the season and sixth of his career. The big man also led the way with a team-high four steals.
