NEW ORLEANS – Texas A&M's Lamara Distin remains on The Bowerman Watch List, the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association announced Wednesday afternoon.

Distin is one of 10 athletes named to the watch list for the national award given to the top male and female collegiate track & field athlete. She made her Bowerman Watch List debut on January 10, becoming the 15th woman in Texas A&M program history to be named to the list.

This is the first of seven watch list updates throughout the indoor and outdoor seasons prior to the semifinalists being announced on June 19 and the finalists on June 26.

The track & field standout began the indoor season with a nation-leading mark of 6-2.75/1.90m to win the high jump competition at the Razorback Invitational. The performance earned her the SEC Women's Field Athlete of the Week award.

Distin broke out during the 2022 season, winning indoor and outdoor NCAA titles, also clearing 6-5.5/1.97m to claim the school record, Jamaican record and become the fourth-best performer in collegiate history.
