BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Freshman Carolyn Calzada was named Texas A&M Soccer Newcomer of the Year at the squad's award dinner.

Calzada played in 17 matches, all starts, in her first year in Aggieland. She anchored the backline line as Texas A&M posted a 1.13 goals-against average and six shutouts. Calzada registered two assists, both in league matches.

The product of Sugar Hill, Georgia, garnered a spot on the Freshman All-SEC Team.

The Aggies' 2022 campaign ended with a 9-7-5 mark as head coach G Guerrieri became the fifth NCAA Division I coach to reach the 500-win plateau.
