WACO, Texas - The Texas A&M equestrian team earned 36 National Collegiate Equestrian Association academic honors, including five NCEA All-Academic First Team mentions, the NCEA announced Friday.
Cori Cansdale, Ellie Gerbrandt, Ariana Gray, Haley Redifer and Devon Thomas earned NCEA All-Academic First Team honors for competing in a minimum of 70 percent of the team's meets, while maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher for the spring and fall semesters.
Lauren Hanson, Keesa Luers, Hanna Olaussen, Morgan Rosia and Rylee Shufelt were all mentioned on the NCEA All-Academic Second Team, which required competing in a minimum of 50 percent of the team's meets, while owning a 3.0 GPA for the spring and fall semesters.
NCEA Academic Honor Roll mentions were awarded to those with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 in the fall and spring semesters. Texas A&M boasts 24 student-athletes on the NCEA Academic Honor Roll.
The Aggies trail only Baylor with the second most All-Acadmeic selections of the 27 institutions in the NCEA.
