FORT WORTH, Texas – The Texas A&M soccer team registered a 1-0 victory over the TCU Horned Frogs in Sunday's exhibition match at Garvey-Rosenthal Stadium.
Carissa Boeckmann corralled an errant TCU pass outside the box and beat the Horned Frogs' keeper 1-v-1 to score the match's lone goal with 8:00 remaining in the first quarter.
After TCU took the first two shots of the first half, the Aggies regrouped and peppered eight unanswered shots the remainder of the stanza, including five shots-on-goal.
In the second half, the Horned Frogs owned a 6-4 shot advantage after the intermission. The Aggies were able to keep the clean sheet with four saves, including three by goalkeeper Jordyn Gunnarson in the second half. Defender Lauren Geczik also made a key team save taking a shot on the goal line midway through the second half.
The Maroon & White are 3-1-1 in the spring and they've yielded just two goals in 330 minutes of play for a 0.55 goals-against average.
Texas A&M closes out the spring slate on Saturday, April 15 when the Aggies host Texas State (1 p.m.) and UTSA (5 p.m.) in 60-minute mini-matches at Ellis Field.
