EUGENE, Ore. – The Texas A&M track and field program secured three finals spots on the second day of competition at the USATF Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field. Bryce Deadmon and Jermaisha Arnold claimed a place in the men's and women's 400m finals on Saturday, while Samantha Watson ensured her spot in the women's 800m final on Sunday.

Reigning 4x400m Olympic champion Deadmon delivered once again in today's men's 400m semifinals. He logged a season best time of 44.70 to finish with the second-fastest overall time on the day. Arnold followed suit in the women's 400m, as the A&M sophomore logged a time of 51.27 for a sixth-place overall finish.

Watson secured her trip to the final in the women's 800m following a hard-fought eighth place finish in the semifinals. She finished fifth in her respective heat with a time of 2:00.85, her time marked the second fastest time beyond the six auto qualifiers which ensured her spot in the finals.

The Aggies 400m hurdles group put on a show in the opening round. In the men's race, James Smith II and Bryce McCray received auto qualifications to the semifinals following a pair of top-four finishes in their respective heats. Smith finished with a time of 49.75 securing a third-place finish in his heat, while McCray clocked a time of 50.44 landing him fourth in his race. On the women's side, Shamier Little dominated the opening heat, as she claimed the top spot finishing in 55.32 to advance to the semifinals.

Annie Kunz put on an incredible performance on the final day of the heptathlon. Following a ninth-place finish in the long jump, she bounced back in the javelin recording a personal best throw of 46.64m/153-0 beating out her closest competition by 2.74m/9-0. Despite her great efforts in the 800m, Kunz narrowly missed out on a medal finishing in fourth place with 6049 points, just four points shy of the bronze medal. Shaina Burns also had a consistent day finishing top-10 in all of the events, concluding her heptathlon with 5720 points for a ninth-place finish.

Devin Dixon and Brandon Miller competed in the men's 800m semifinals following two impressive first round races on Thursday. Dixon logged a time of 1:48.33 and Miller finished the race in 1:48.55 as the pair placed 15th and 16th, respectively.

Jaiya Covington was the lone performer for the Maroon & White in the women's 100m hurdles registering a top-20 finish. She ended with a time of 13.43 and was just 0.29 seconds shy of a place in the semifinals.

Incoming freshman, Carlie Weiser finished 11th in the women's U20 discus throw with a toss of 36.50m/119-9.
