Little Claims 400m Hurdles National Title on Final Day of USATF Outdoor Championships

Texas A&M track & field's Shamier Little claimed the women's 400m hurdles national title, while Camryn Dickson and Natosha Rogers secured bronze medals on the final day of the USATF and USATF U20 Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field.

EUGENE, Ore. – Texas A&M track & field's Shamier Little claimed the women's 400m hurdles national title, while Camryn Dickson and Natosha Rogers secured bronze medals on the final day of the USATF and USATF U20 Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field.
 
Little highlighted the day for the Aggies, as she brought home the women's 400m hurdles national title with a season best time of 53.34. The highly contested final included four women that met the world championship standard time.
 
Getting the day started for A&M was Dickson in the women's U20 200m first round. The freshman carried her momentum from Saturday's 100m, as she once again won her heat and qualified for the final with the second fastest overall time of 22.90. In the final, Dickson set a personal best time of 22.85 on her way to a bronze medal performance, her second medal of the championships.
 
Not being satisfied with one medal, Rogers delivered yet another bronze medal showing, this time in the women's 5000m. She finished the event with a personal best time of 14:55.39, ensuring her third place finish.
 
Fred Kerley cruised into the men's 200m final with a third overall performance in the semis, he finished with a time of 19.95. Elijah Morrow narrowly missed out on making the evening's race, as he placed 10th with a time of 20.33. In a highlight-contested final where all eight competitors met the world championship qualifying time, Kerley logged a season best 19.86 for a fourth-place finish.
 
In the men's 400m hurdles final, junior James Smith II finished in sixth place with a time of 49.56, just 0.35 seconds off his personal best.
 
Samantha Watson placed seventh in the women's 800m final, she concluded the race with a time of 2:02.07.
 
Connor Schulman concluded his championships with a 12th place finish in the men's 110m hurdles semifinals, finishing the race in 13.60.
 
The Texas A&M track & field team qualified 11 athletes to represent Team USA at the World Championships, U23 NACAC Championships and U20 Pan American Championships. The athletes and their respective meets and events are listed below.
 
World Championships qualifiers: Bryce Deadmon (400m, 4x400m), Athing Mu (800m, 1500m), Fred Kerley (100m), Shamier Little (400m hurdles), Natosha Rogers (5000m) and Maggie Malone (Javelin).
 
U23 NACAC qualifiers: Jermaisha Arnold (400m, 4x400m) and Connor Schulman (110m hurdles).
 
U20 Pan Ams qualifiers: Jack Man III (pole vault), Camryn Dickson (100m, 4x100m) and Laila Hackett (4x100m).
