Kerley Claims Silver at Diamond League Event in Poland

Former Texas A&M standout Fred Kerley claimed a silver medal in the men's 100m among the world's best at the Diamond League event held at the Silesian Stadium.

SILESIA, Poland – Former Texas A&M standout Fred Kerley claimed a silver medal in the men's 100m among the world's best at the Diamond League event held at the Silesian Stadium.
 
Kerley participated in a highly-competitive men's 100m final, where the top four finishers were decided by 0.02 seconds. He secured second place with a time of 9.98 seconds, just 0.01 from the gold medal. This was Kerley's fourth medal this year in Diamond League events, previously he had won three gold medals, two in the 100m and one in the 200m.
 
Current Texas A&M student-athlete Lamara Distin competed in the women's high jump claiming sixth place. After clearing both 1.85m/6-0.75 and 1.89m/6-2.25 without fault, she failed to clear 1.92m/6-3.5 ending her event in sixth.
 
The Aggies final competitor of the day was newly crowned United States national champion in the men's 400m, Bryce Deadmon. He finished the event in sixth place, just 0.08 seconds from the bronze medal.
