DALLAS – Texas A&M golfer Adela Cernousek fell in the four-hole playoff for the individual title of the Jackson T. Stephens Cup on Wednesday morning at the Trinity Forest Golf Club.
Â
Cernousek claimed runner-up honors to Texas's Lauren Kim. The pair began the playoff on Tuesday night after they both finished at 11-under 205 through 54 holes. The Stephens Cup individual championship would be decided by a sudden-death playoff, per tournament rules. Cernosuek and Kim tied three-straight holes before play was suspended due to darkness.
Â
The pair of competitors would come back out on Wednesday to bring finality to the playoff, where Kim bested Cernousek on the first hole of the new day with a par on No. 18.
Â
The junior Aggie matched her 54-hole low score with the 11-under 205 and recorded the first solo-second performance of her career.
Â
Cernousek and the Aggies will return to the course at the prestigious East Lake Cup in Jones Creek, Georgia, Oct. 30-Nov. 1 to wrap up the fall schedule.
