Get to Know: Kramer Eschete

Junior Kramer Eschete grew up just down the road in Brenham and joined the Aggies this summer after spending her first two seasons at Louisiana. While with the Ragin' Cajuns she was a career .321 hitter and helped lead them to back-to-back NCAA Regionals--including a regional title last season.

Get to know one of the newest Aggies below.

At what Point in your Recruitment Process did you decide to transfer to A&M?

“When I decided to come here it was mainly about having a better connection with my coaching staff and being able to communicate with them better. Also having a fair opportunity in where I was, that was a nail in the coffin for me, as well as being close to home is amazing.”

Did you have any A&M family connections before your transfer?

“No. My sister is at Texas right now and my mom went to Texas. Growing up I was a Longhorn. There was no connection whatsoever.”

What was your prior knowledge of Texas A&M?

“I knew about the culture because I lived 45 minutes away, but I didn’t know much about the University. I just knew there was so much tradition and culture here.”

How has your experience been since you transferred from Louisiana to A&M?

“I love it so much. Every aspect of it, that’s all I can say about it. I love the people, the coaches, the University and how nice people are here. I’ve loved everything about College Station.”

What’s the experience been like transferring with a teammate from one school to another? 

“Kylei [Griffin] and I live together, so it makes it way better. Having a familiar face and someone that I am comfortable around has made the transition so much smoother.”

What are your thoughts going into this season, and what are your goals for the team and individually?

“I think we’re going to be a good team and we’re going to shock a lot of people. As a team we want to work well together and we want to win. That’s the whole purpose of it but we want to win as a team. Individually, I want to be happier than where I was at before, and I already am.”

How does it feel to be playing in front of the 12th Man?

“It feels surreal, all of it is insane to think about. It’s like “Oh my Gosh I am at Texas A&M!” It’s exciting to play in front of all these people. It’s a fun thing.”

What is your strength as a player?

“I am really fast at running and I have a lot of range. I have a good arm, although sometimes it is hard for me to control, but in general I would say my arm.”

What is your favorite fast-food place in Aggieland?

“Oh Gosh that’s a hard one…Fuego. Fuego is so good.”

What are your hobbies aside from softball?

“This might be a nerdy thing to say, but I love to read.”

Do you have any favorite series that you are watching right now?

“Currently I am watching ‘Vampire Diaries’, but I am watching it for the fifth time so I’m not sure if that really counts. Overall, that’s my favorite. I am also watching ‘Love Island.’”

What is your fondest moment so far in your athletic career?

“It would have to be going to Super Regionals. I thought that was such a surreal thing and its one of those moments that you don’t know it existed until you’re there.”

Do you have any specific reasoning behind wearing the number 91?

“I am obsessed with Dennis Rodman. I chose it because of the way that he plays to the best of his abilities and he doesn’t really care what people say about him. It didn’t matter what he did outside of the basketball court, as long as he left it all on the court.”

What are your goals after you graduate from Texas A&M?

“My mom is a teacher, so I would like to teach. I would also like to be a coach since teaching and coaching go hand in hand.”
