Aggies Remain On Top After Second Day Of Invite

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The No. 11 Texas A&M women's swimming & diving team added to its hot start with another successful day at the pool, amassing 781 points and retaining first place.
The 200 medley relay team of Miranda Grana, Bobbi Kennett, Olivia Theall and Chloe Stepanek kicked finals off with a win and a final time of 1:37.04.
Giula Goerigk lowered her top time of the season in the 400 IM to a 4:07.91, placing second. Additionally, Abigail Ahrens clinched a B cut and personal best time of 4:14.43 to take fourth.
Theall picked up the win in the 100 fly, setting a season-best time of 51.96. Katie Walker notched a B cut time with a 53.19 and a third-place finish.
Stepanek touched the wall first in the 200 free A-final clocking in her fastest time of the season at 1:43.98. Hayden Miller added a season-best time of her own at 1:49.38.
Grana led the way in the 100 back, winning the event with a time of 51.73. Jordan Buechler (53.31), Aviv Barzelay (53.86) and Paula Warren (54.90) all collected their best times of the season. Furthermore, Buechler notched a B cut time with her second-place finish.
Joslyn Oakley and Mayson Richards represented the Aggies in the 1-meter final. Oakley backed up her performance yesterday with another second-place finish, scoring 307.60. Richards took sixth with a score of 295.90.
The 800 free relay team of Buechler, Abby Grottle, Goerigk and Stepanek capped the day off with a win and a B cut time of 7:05.81. Buechler recorded a career-best 200 free time of 1:45.99 to begin the race.

The Aggies wrap up the Art Adamson Invitational on Friday, with prelims once again starting at 9:30 a.m. and finals at 5:30 p.m. All platform competition will be underway at 12 p.m., and the 1650 free will get started at 2:30 p.m.
