
Aggies Wrap Day Four at Phillips 66 National Championships

INDIANAPOLIS -- Texas A&M's Alex Sanchez and Logan Brown advanced to the finals as the Aggies wrapped the fourth day of competition at the Phillips 66 National Championships at the University of Indiana Natatorium Friday.
Sanchez posted a time of 1:02.28 in the 100m breast final to place 24th, while Brown took 25th with a time of 1:02.18 to finish atop the D final. Brown was honored prior to Friday's evening session for becoming the U18 national champion in the 50m breast on Thursday.
In prelims, Aggie pro Brett Pinfold and senior Thomas Shomper competed in the 100m back, as Pinfold clocked in at 55.54 to place 31st and Shomper went 56.56 to finish 48th.
Seniors Chloe Stepanek and Abby Grottle finished back-to-back in the 400m free prelim as Stepanek posted a time of 4:14.99 to place 26th and Grottle lowered her Olympic Trials cut time to 4:15.45 to finish 27th.
Competition will conclude Saturday with the 200m IM, 50m free, women's 1500m free and men's 800m free. Prelims will begin at 9 a.m. CT and finals getting underway at 6 p.m. CT. Coverage details for the meet can be found here.
