THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The No. 19 Texas A&M men's tennis team travels to the Golden State for the Sherwood Intercollegiate to start the spring season. The tournament will take place at the Sherwood Country Club Jan. 13-15.

"Sherwood is something the team looks forward to every year," head coach Steve Denton said. "The picturesque club along with three quality opponents in Cal, USC, and UCLA is the perfect setting for getting the season kicked off. Our guys have had a few days of training here and can't wait to compete this weekend in California."

Denton is entering his 18th season leading A&M. He is the all-time winningest coach in program history, with 347 victories under his belt and has amassed 21 NCAA Tournament wins.

This will be the fifth season the Maroon & White has played in the Sherwood Intercollegiate. No. 7 USC, UCLA, and Cal will be competing against the Aggies in California. The teams will play a mixture of singles and doubles matches during the three days in a round robin format.

A&M will be led 2023 All-SEC First Team selection Raphael Perot and ITA ranked singles players, No. 93 Luke Casper and No. 109 JC Roddick. Additionally, sophomore transfer Togan Tokac will be getting his first spring action as an Aggie. Tokac went 4-1 at the ITA All-American Championships earlier this fall.

The event will not be televised and no live stats will be available.
