FORT WORTH, Texas -- The No. 6 Texas A&M men's swimming & diving team returns to action Saturday, hitting the road to take on TCU at the University Recreation Center. The dual meet is set to being at 1 p.m.Â
The Aggies boast a 6-0 dual meet record on the year and are coming off a top finish at the annual Art Adamson Invitational. A&M knocked down No. 6 Tennessee, No. 7 Texas and No. 23 Georgia Tech in the first half of the season, while clocking a multiple school records and top-15 times in the nation this season through the fall.Â
Trey Dickey helped highlight the Aggies' victory at Invite as he took down a pair of school records on the final day of the meet. He lowered his own program record in the 1650 free clocking in at 14:51.46 and set a new school mark in the 1000 free with a split of 8:58.43. Dickey's time in the mile also ranks as the ninth-fastest time in the nation this season.Â
The Aggies' breaststrokers also impressed in the first half of the season as Alex Sanchez boasts the No. 2 time in the country in both events after going 51.37 in the 100 breast and 1:51.13 in the 200 breast at Invite. Logan Brown clocked new career-bests at Invite with times of 52.14 in the 100 and 1:53.15 in the 200, both of which rank among the top-13 in the nation, while his time of 1:43.07 in the 200 IM is also a top-15 time this year.Â
Baylor Nelson continues to be a versatile threat for the Aggies after finishing first in all three of his individual events at Invite, while he and Sanchez teamed up with Thomas Shomper and Connor Foote to register the team's first relay A-cut of the season with a time of 3:04.62 and help the 200 medley relay clock in at 1:23.83 to notched the sixth-fastest time in the nation this season. Individually, Nelson's times of 1:41.33 in the 200 IM and 3:38.33 in the 400 IM stand as top-four times on the year.Â
Diving has continued to impress through the first half of the season, led by defending SEC 1-meter champion Victor Povzner and Allen Bottego, who has been named SEC Male Diver of the Week three times this season. Povzner, Bottego, Takuto Endo and Rhett Hensley have all qualified for NCAA Zones on both springboards, with Endo and Hensley notching qualifying marks on the platform at Invite.Â
