GREAT ABACO, The Bahamas – Former Texas A&M men's golf teammates Sam Bennett and Walker Lee finished in the top 15 at The Bahamas Great Abaco Classic.

Playing in his first Korn Ferry Tour event of the season, Bennett finished tied for ninth place. He carded a 5-under 283 at the par-72, 7,141-yard Abaco Club on Winding Bay.

Lee finished two strokes back, tied for 14th place at 3-under 285.

Aldrich Potgieter won the match with a 10-under 278 thanks to a 7-under 65 round in Wednesday's action.

Lee earned this season's Korn Ferry Tour card with his third-place showing in last year's PGA Tour Latinoamérica Totalplay Cup standings. He claimed PING All-America honors on two occasions, named to the second team in 2020 and third team in 2022. In his senior season – 2021-22 – Lee had seven top-10 finishes, including fourth place at the NCAA Bryan Regional. He won five events during his career, including two Aggie Invitationals along with the Meridoe Intercollegiate, Marquette Invitational and Cabo Collegiate.

Bennett claimed his tour card with his fifth-place finish in the PGA Tour University standings last season. The 2022 SEC Golfer of the Year and three-time All-American earned five collegiate tournament titles. His Aggie career was highlighted by winning the 122nd U.S. Amateur in 2022 and earning Low Amateur status at the 2023 Masters Tournament.

The pair were teammates for four seasons – 2018-19 to 2021-22 – leading the Aggies to nine tournament titles, including a 2019 NCAA Regional crown.
