Get to know one of the newest Aggies below.

You played for Coach Ford and her staff at Arizona State for your first three college season, what has it been like to transfer to Texas A&M and play for them again?

“It's a refreshing feeling. Obviously in my senior year at Arizona State they were not there, so being able to come back and play under them is a great feeling. Coach Ford is more than just a softball coach, we call her our “Mama Bear”. She helps us on and off the field and is always making sure that we are okay.”

You're obviously really close with this coaching staff, who is your favorite?

“Heff, I would say coach E is up there too, but I have more years with coach Heff. I think it’s because I have the closest connection with Heff, I call him my sports psychologist. When I’m down, Heff is one of the first people that I go to.”

What has your transition to Texas A&M been like so far and what are you still trying to get used to?

“Probably the animals out here. Being from Southern California, you don’t just walk outside and there's a whole ranch right next to you. That and the traditions, I am still getting used to the yells, I have two of them down but I’m still working on them.”

You and Sav Price transferred from Arizona State, how has that been to have a familiar face from one school to the next?

“I think it helps having Sav here. At the end of the day, I know that I can go to her for anything. The transfer process has not been bad, the staff is like my second family, so it feels like I am kind of still at home.”

Including yourself, who can hit the ball the hardest and farthest on the team?

“It’s between Mya, Julia and Trinity. I think I’m in the mix on a good day, but Trinity hits have more airtime while Julia’s is more of a lined shot, which separates them at certain times. Mya as well, she can hit.”

How do you think you could make the greatest impact on this time and are there any areas you would like to improve on?

“I think with the second year staff and the new group of girls, I know the standards and culture that they want. Helping switch that around with the program here, making sure we are paying attention to the little things and holding each other accountable. I feel that for me personally I could work to make sure I am consistent. We all have bad days, but I want people to not to tell when I have a bad day.”

What are your individual and team goals for this season?

“Personally, I want to be able to contribute to the team as much as I can. As a team, I want us to keep fighting. No matter the highs or lows of this season, just keep being gritty.”

What are your favorite hobbies outside of softball?

“I like to try new restaurants, and my favorite thing to do is to find new shows on Netflix. Recently, I watched “The Challenge”. It is like a reality show, but it isn’t, and it has challenges.”

What is your favorite place to eat at in Aggieland and would you eat there every day for the rest of your life?

“It's kind of everywhere, but I think I could do Walk Ons for the rest of my life because of the wide variety. In general, my favorite restaurant is McDonalds, but I would not eat there for the rest of my life because they don’t have nachos.”

You're from California, so what's better In-N-Out or Whataburger?

“In-and-out, it's fresh, you can’t go wrong with an In-and-Out burger, like the flying dutchman, you can do a lot with it.”

What is your favorite song and artist?

“My favorite song right now is “What would Pluto Do” by Drake. You can never go wrong with Drake, it’s on his new album.

What phrase do you say a lot?

“I say “I know that's right.”, I feel like it just goes with everything. Like if something happens, I’ll just say it.”

What are you plans for after Texas A&M?

“That's the million dollar question. I honestly have no clue at the moment. I like talking to people and I like being in the sports industry. Wherever God takes me, I am going to follow that path. If the opportunity is given I would 100% want to play at the pro level, but down the line I don't know where I see myself.”
