No. 14 Men’s Tennis to Host ACU Wildcats on Tuesday

The No. 14 Texas A&M men's tennis team is set to take the court against the ACU Wildcats at the Mitchell Tennis Center on Tuesday, Feb. 6 with first serve set for 3:30 p.m.

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 14 Texas A&M men's tennis team is set to take the court against the ACU Wildcats at the Mitchell Tennis Center on Tuesday, Feb. 6 with first serve set for 3:30 p.m.

"Friday was a good test for our first match at home," head coach Steve Denton said. "I thought we did a good job of pushing back on their momentum in the doubles. ACU is much improved and a dangerous opponent. They had a win over Texas Tech earlier this year. I am hoping to use some of our depth to keep more of our players dialed in that we will certainly need as the season progresses."

The Maroon & White have started the season 5-0, with their most recent win coming in a 7-0 sweep over the SMU Mustangs. The match was highlighted by an impressive doubles comeback win from the tandem of Raphael Perot and reigning SEC Freshman of the Week Tiago Pires.

ACU brings a 3-3 record to the court on Tuesday, with its last win coming against Hardin-Simmons. With a win, the Aggies would match their best start to a season since the beginning of the 2021-22 campaign.
